A5 Blade Quality Inspection: Evidence to Agree Before Shipment

Agree what will be checked, how it will be checked and what record will accompany the order. Jizu states an IQC / IPQC / OQC process; a process description is not a measured batch result.

Inspection context: a technician at an inspection workstation. Request the actual batch record, test method and acceptance criteria for your order.

Distinguish the quality system from batch evidence

IQC, IPQC and OQC describe incoming, in-process and outgoing control stages. ISO 9001 is a quality-system reference, not a numerical blade hardness or fit result.

Use the factory photos on the Quality and Manufacturing pages to understand the supplied facility evidence. They do not identify the results for a particular #10 or #5F batch. If certification scope, validity or issuing details matter to supplier approval, request and verify the current document. Do not infer test results, accreditations or defect rates from a photograph of inspection equipment.

  • List which quality-system documents and batch records your purchasing process requires.
  • Tie each requested batch result to a product specification, lot and agreed method.

Agree incoming-material and process checkpoints

Material identity and process requirements should match the agreed A5 configuration. The fixed blade is steel; the moving cutter can be carbon steel or ceramic.

At the incoming stage, request the material evidence appropriate to the selected configuration. For in-process review, agree any checks needed for tooth condition, dimensions, alignment or specified surface processing. The supplier and buyer should define sampling, method and acceptance limits in advance. No size-specific HRC value, tooth-pitch tolerance or batch pass-rate result is published here.

  • If a hardness or dimensional limit is necessary, put the actual agreed value and method in the purchase specification.
  • Do not treat an unspecified 'precision' description as an acceptance criterion.

Review the assembled sample on the nominated model

An A5 sample-fit record should identify the exact clipper model and blade configuration. Mechanical fit is distinct from nominal cut length or material selection.

Compare the supplied sample with the agreed order line: for example #7F at 3.2 mm (1/8 in) is not #5F at 6.3 mm (1/4 in). Follow the machine manufacturer's instructions during evaluation. Record any fit or cutting issue using the sample identity and conditions; do not force an uncertain mounting pair. Define application evaluation with a qualified operator if it is needed for approval.

  • Capture size marking, cutter material, tooth condition and alignment observations against the approved sample.
  • Request separate evidence for temperature, wear or service-life claims if the programme intends to make them.

Define outgoing checks and the discrepancy record

Before shipment, agree how order-line identity, quantity, labelling, packaging and the required inspection record will be reviewed under OQC.

Match the carton and product labels to the approved artwork and mm/in length. If the programme uses several cutter materials or size designations, make their identification unambiguous. Retain the final specification and lot details for a claim or reorder. A proposed checklist does not prove a batch passed; the release decision needs the actual record and agreed acceptance requirements.

  • Request a dated, lot-linked report with methods, results and disposition for the checks agreed on the order.
  • If an issue occurs, provide the order reference, lot, exact model, photos and observations for the supplier's quality-claim review.

Explore the A5 specifications

Use these eight published A5 specifications to build separate RFQ order lines. Listed lengths are nominal references in millimeters and inches.

Buyer questions

Confirmed references and practical purchasing checks.

Are hardness and tolerance results published for every size?

No. No per-size numerical hardness, tolerance, temperature, service-life or batch pass-rate results are published. Define required values and request evidence for the actual programme.

Do factory inspection photos prove a shipment passed?

No. Factory photos show supplied facility evidence, not the result for a particular batch. Request a lot-linked inspection record and the agreed acceptance criteria.

What information helps investigate a fit issue?

Provide the exact clipper model, blade size and material configuration, order or lot reference, photos and a description of the observed issue. Compare them with the approved sample record.
